General information about the article
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has a systemic impact on the body, including the oral cavity tissues. The aim of this review article is to analyze the prevalence, clinical course, and pathogenic mechanisms of periodontal and oral mucosal lesions in patients with CKD. The literature data are summarized, key clinical manifestations are discussed, as well as strategies for the prevention and treatment of dental complications in this patient group.
